Vocational Rehabilitation

Vocational Rehabilitation provides services for those with disablities.  Services provided are individualized to the client needs.

Voc. Rehab. can help you explore your interests, identify your skills and abilities, and help you find your best fit in the work world. They can help you find the necessary training to prepare you for a job. They can help you develop a job-winning resume, cover letter, and application. They can help with interviewing skills and can talk to employers on your behalf. Voc. Rehab. can maintain contact with you during the first months of employment, and can help resolve problems if they arise.  They can also help with worksite accommodations. 

Vocational Rehabilitation has a transition program and an adult program.  The transition program serves individuals of 16 years or older bridge the gap from school to adult life.  Transitional planning consists of career exploration, becoming aware of community resources, and also obtaining knowledge of services available. 

Employers can also be served at Voc. Rehab. through their placement services that consist of job matching, job retention, job coaching, assistive technology, and on-the-job evaluation and traning. 

Other programs also available at Vocational Rehabilition include the Job Seeking Skills Program, the Employment Planning Program, the Job Placement Program, the Assistive Technology Program, and the Benefits Planning Program.

The Norfolk office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm.  It serves 19 cities in northeast and north central Nebraska.  Other Vocational Rehabilitation offices are located in Columbus, Fremont, Grand Island, Kearney, Lincoln, North Platte, Omaha, Omaha West, Scottsbluff, and South Sioux City.
