Client FAQ
How much does a therapy session cost, and how long are the appointments?
Master’s level therapists cost is $95 for a 50 minute session, usually one time a week. Psychologist level cost is $110 for a 50 minute session, usually one time a week.
What if I can't afford to come to therapy due to no insurance, no job, or a large deductible?
We try to provide therapy for everyone desiring to come to OCI. We are providers for most insurance companies. We accept Medicare and Medicaid. We also have a sliding scale according to your income, United Way funding, Farm Crisis Voucher, Christian Workers EAP, OCI’s fund Friends of Oasis and grants available.
How soon can I get in for an appointment?
We have fourteen counselors and we can usually get you in within 3-5 days or earlier if it is an emergency. We have morning, afternoon and evening appointments.
Does OCI have a bilingual therapist?
Yes, we have a bilingual therapist that speaks Spanish. Colleen Stortvedt (D.O.C., L.M.H.P., C.P.C.) became fluent in Spanish through her cross-cultural experience in Costa Rica. While there, she was a professor at the University of San Jose, where she taught English to bilingual secretaries.
How do I know what therapist would be best for my therapy?
The first time you come in any one of the therapists can do the intake session. Dr. Temple, our Supervising Psychologist, reviews the information and will assign you to the therapist with the training that will be most beneficial to you. If you have a therapist you would like to see, let us know and Dr. Temple will take your preference into consideration.
As a parent, am I in the room all the time with the therapist and my child?
You are always welcome to attend with your child. For the first session and for mental status evaluations you are asked to attend to help answer questions. Other appointments the therapist may meet with you together, with just one of you or divide the appointment between you.
